I find this article interesting. I am an Iraq war veteran who suffered a mild TBI in July of 2004. I was 50 feet from a car bomb that exploded. I was not given an MRI, CT, or any medication after the blast. Just a quick look over by my battalion PA. I had my first seizure (that i know of) in December of 2008. They started as nocturnal tonic clonic seizures however more recently I had my first seizure while I was awake. I agree that the military and more importantly the VA needs to pay attention to this. If I had not moved in with my fiance’ I would not have known I was even having them, granted that was until I had my seizure when I was awake. I have gone threw a few medications including Keppra, which my body didn’t handle to well. I am now on my third medication which has also failed to control my seizures.

This is great news, giving hope to those people who is suffering from this condition. Hope that we are one more step closer into knowing the cause of epilepsy and the cure for this.
