The Epilepsy Foundation of Mississippi is proud to announce that it has received a grant from TechFoundation, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based nonprofit that delivers technology, expertise, and capital to help nonprofit organizations serve humanity. The Epilepsy Foundation of Mississippi will use its grant to fund a new project titled “Changing the Stigma through Technology.” This funding will be used to purchase electronic CARE Medical bracelets, increase online trainings, and offer web-based support groups. As always, our mission is to lead the fight to stop seizures, find a cure, and overcome challenges created by epilepsy. Our goal of reaching all 82 counties with a focus on rural areas is taking shape, but a majority of Mississippians with epilepsy are below the state’s poverty level, live in rural communities, and are unable to drive due to diagnosis. The grant from TechFoundation will allow us to provide increased technological support and updated technology programs, thus enabling us to better reach our underserved population.
